iPhone in Australia by Optus? No exclusivity there as well.

Posted in iPhone News by admin. Published May 3rd, 2008

CNET Australia reports that mobile service carrier Optus will be one of several iPhone providers in Australia. We should hear the official announcement somewhere in mid-May.

It is guessed that Australia will have 3G models as well. But no confirmation of it exists.

The other carrier will be Telstra since it has sufficient technology to offer services to iPhone. Who else might offer it remains unknown.

It is also rumoured that Apple might sell them through their stores, and that they will be unlocked. However this is just another unconfirmed rumour, and we should not get too excited until more information becomes available.
