You might remember that Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt was one of the people that presented the original iPhone back in January 2007.
Since then he’s been heavily involved in iPhone’s development (keep in mind that Apple’s iPhone features support for Google Maps, MyLocation technology, Gmail, and more), but not everything is rosy between the two companies.
Google is currently working on Google Android, its own operating system for mobile phones, and here these two companies might have a conflict of interest.

Mr Schmidt says that he had to be excused from Apple’s board meetings (most likely so he wouldn’t be seen as a spy). “I’ve only done this once or twice, so it’s not as common as it sounds,” he says. But the opportunity for a disastrous relations break appears to be there, once the companies will be involved in direct competition, or so we think.
