It appears that Apple is not going to allow third party GPS software makers to adapt their programs for the 3G iPhone (that will feature an A-GPS).
According to paragraph 3.3.7 of iPhone SDK agreement:
Applications may not be designed or marketed for real time route guidance; automatic or autonomous control of vehicles, aircraft, or other mechanical devices; dispatch or fleet management; or emergency or life-saving purposes.
So it looks like we’ll have to suffice with the in-built iPhone GPS software, while this is a certainly damper for plans of many companies that wanted to provide their own GPS solutions for the iPhone.
