GPS manufacturers “scared shitless” of iPhone 2.0’s GPS
Although it was not confirmed but just rumoured that the upcoming 3G iPhone will have a real in-built GPS chip instead of Google’s MyLocation that the firstgen devices are currently using, GPS manufacturers’ industry is already scared.
How scared, exactly? According to a president of a GPS navigation system manufacturer, “scared shitlessless,” or at least that’s what Popular Mechanics magazine reports.
It seems that Apple is really on the right track with the iPhone as the universal “tricorder“, if even bordering industries are feeling the heat.
