Also at the WWDC 2008 today, Steve Jobs has announced that the beloved by many Apple fans .mac service is due to cease its operations while MobileMe service will be launched in its place.
MobileMe, accessible at me.com, is due to provide enhanced e-mail, syncing, and online Ajax apps services all from one centralized spot.

Photo by EngadgetThis new service will feature push email, contacts, and calendar syncing, available from your iPhone, Mac, or PC. All this information goes directly to all your devices, so if you get an e-mail on your iPhone, you can see it from your Mac or PC as well.
According to Mr Jobs, “it works with the native apps on my Mac or PC — it works with Mail.app, iCal, Address Book… as well as Outlook. You’d expect that it would work with those native apps.” There are also many AJAX apps that can be used.
The price is $99/year for 20GB of storage. But a free trial of 60 days is available to new users, while all existing .mac e-mail users will be automatically upgraded to MobileMe (it does look like all data will be transfered).
