O2 UK iPhone owners to get free 3G iPhone upgrade
It appears that UK owners of original Apple iPhone are in luck (as compared to American iPhone owners), since they’ll be getting a completely free upgrade from original 2G iPhone to the new 3G iPhone version if they’ll just sign a new 18 months contract on a plan that’s worth over £45.
According to the official website (also see plans overview):
The new 8GB iPhone won’t cost you a penny on our £45 and £75 tariffs. And it’s just £99 on our £35 tariff and new £30 tariff.
All tariffs include unlimited browsing on your iPhone, unlimited Wi-Fi access, visual voicemail and reduced roaming rates with our International Traveller Service and are subject to a minimum term contract of 18 months.
Additionally, the 16GB iPhone will be free for those that sign up for a £75/month plan.
The new tarrif of 30 pounds per month includes 75 minutes of talk and 125 text messages, in addition to unlimited WiFi and Visual Voicemail.
