Unlock or Jailbreak your iPhone with WinPwn 2.0

As you’ve probably noticed, a Windows version of PwnageTool was released today called WinPwn. If you are inexperienced user you might not know how to use this proggie. Here is a short guide on how to install the latest firmware which will leave your phone unlocked orjailbroken. This should minimize any risk to your beloved iPhone.

So firstly make sure you have the latest version of iTunes. Currently it’s 7.7
If you have a previous version of WinPwn, please uninstall it.

[Update] Download the latest version of WinPwnhere. Currently 2.0.2 available.

Go to iTunes, connect your phone and download 2.0 firmware. Make sure you select download only, not download and install.

Now with all this done launch WinPwn.

Select IPSW Builder and select *.ipws file located in C:\Documents and Settings\”your username”\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

Now click “Ipwner” and select file you’ve just created through IPWS Builder.

Restart iPhone into DFU mode.

In iTunes, hold shift on your keyboard and press Update. Then select your created ipsw file.

Remember, if you have iPhone 3G you can only jailbreak it.
First gen iPhone can be unlocked and jailbreaked.
And iTouch, obviously just jailbreaked.
