iPhone 3G Plastic Shell Gets Cracks

A number of iPhone users have been complaining of a hairline crack on the back plastic shell of white iPhone 3G model. The Apple’s discussion forum and MacRumors forum has been flooded with these complaints.

While white 16GB models seem to be the most affected, but there are also some users who are complaining of the hairline crack in the black model as well. The cracks are not the result of accidental drops, so it seems very much like a manufacturing problem. These plastic shells have replaced the aluminum originally used in the first generation iPhone, as Apple believed it would help the phone receive better antenna signals.

Looks like Apple may have to face another angry mob, the early adopters of the iPhone 3G. Apple needs to fix this issue asap, or they will have some more lawsuits to deal with in the future.
