Review: Beyza Cases for iPhone 3G

Today we will be reviewing two cases for iPhone 3G. These cases come from Beyza Cases, makers of cases for iPhone, Macbook Air, as well as a lot of cases for other mobile electronics.
We will be reviewing the RoadLine-Slim case, as well as the SlimLine Series.
Beyza Cases is based out of Turkey. Turkish leather is regarded is extremely high quality.

The first positive thing I noted about Beyza Cases happened before I even opened the package. Beyza Cases has some of the fastest and most reliable shipping I have ever seen. I ordered my case late night on Monday, and was quoted that I would receive it on Friday. I actually ended up receiving it on Thursday! This happened again when I ordered the other case. I ordered it on Sunday, and it got to me on Wednesday.
The cases are packed very nicely, not excessively packed, and very classy. They come in a very Apple-esque box, and the RoadLine case even came with a drawstring pouch. Nice touch.

On to the actual cases:
Both the cases I received are designed to be slim and fit into one’s pocket. Neither of them come with a belt clip. Beyza does offer cases with belt-clips and flip fronts, but these are beyond the scope of this review.

The RoadCase:
The stitching on this case is exceptional. Very small and neat stitching lines the case with an extra strip of material to prevent fraying. The perforated leather front is a very unique look that adds to the appeal of the case.
The RoadCase features a silk strap mechanism for removing the phone from the case. This can be seen here:

The mechanism works very well, but the silk looks a bit thin, and I worry that it might begin to fray (note, however, that my case is still in perfect condition. It just seems a little thin).
The lining of this case seems to be a sort of natural suede. I feel the lining of this case could be a bit better, like the one featured on the SlimLine.
The phone fits into the case very well, not exceptionally tight but the phone seems very secure. My biggest problem with the case is when the phone is in the case, the toggle switch on iPhone that toggles between vibrate and ring often gets flicked around when entering and exiting the case. I would often find the phone on ring when it was put on vibrate. There is not much that can be done about this unfortunately, without sacrificing the full protection of the phone.
Overall, a very solid case with a very classy design. It is a very minimalist case made of high quality materials.

The UltraSlim:
The ultraSlim is as minimalist as they come. No bells and whistles, just a solid leather case. As always, the leather on this case is very high quality. This case’s color is “Vintage Brown” - because if its distressed look, the leather scuffs up quite a bit. Just a warning if deciding between vintage or regular. I don’t mind it though, and I think it adds uniqueness to the case. The stitching on this case is also very well done. Unlike the RoadLine, there is no extra material to cover up the edges. Instead there seems to be a shiny, rubber-like coating which seems to work very well and is very subtle. Going this route saves a lot bulk, which is the purpose of the case. The interior of this case has a velvety lining which feels extremely luxurious. It is much nicer than the RoadLine case in my opinion, and seems very easy on the iPhone. The velvet does seem to get dusty in one’s pocket. I often pull out my iPhone and see a few dust particles come off the case onto the phone.
Like the RoadCase, this case fits iPhone very well. This case seems to hold onto the phone tighter than the RoadLine because more of the phone is exposed. The phone does not slip out of the case, even when flipped upside down. This case alleviates the RoadCase’s problem with the toggle-switch. This case leaves it exposed. It is less protective because of the cut-outs on the edges though. Also, less of the phone’s top is protected when compared to the RoadCase.
This case has a cutout on the bottom which gives easy access to the Dock Connector as well as speakers. It also doubles as an easy way to remove the phone from the case, as seen here:
Again, the tradeoff is less protection for the phone.

BeyzaCases are some of the nicest leather cases I have seen so far for iPhone. They are very minimalist and slim, and allow you to enjoy the design of your iPhone without worrying about damaging it. If you are looking for a permanent case for your phone, one that is constantly covering every piece of your phone, Beyza has a few options for you, but I’d look elsewhere. BeyzaCases are for people that want a light case to prevent bumps and scratches, but still want to be able to pull out their phone and enjoy the phone’s natural design.
If you are looking for a very well made and classy case for your iPhone, I could not recommend Beyza enough. If you want a case that’s a bit more protective and classier, go for the RoadLine. But if you are looking for a minimalist case that gives you easy access to your phone, the UltraSlim is the one to choose. In fact, the UltraSlim is my case of choice for my iPhone now.
