It would appear that China Mobile, a carrier that seems to have the rights to bring the iPhone to China, could be introducing a new, more affordable breed of the iPhone, when the device will be launched in this country.
Supposedly this model, due to be available only in China, will not have WiFi, nor 3G capabilities… So it would only have plain old 2G, but no other way at all to connect to the internet. At least that’s what Chinese newspaper South China Morning Post is reporting.
While this would create a cheaper iPhone, and there could possibly be more people that will be able to afford this new iPhone now, there’s something wrong with keeping older technologies just to save a few dollars.
