This could get interesting. According to analyst Charlie Wolf, Apple could drop the price of the 8GB iPhone 3G to $99.
Wolf also said that cutting off $100 of the iPhone 3G’s price could double or even triple sales and quickly overtake most other smartphones on the market, leaving behind only successful smartphone manufacturers like Research in Motion, maker of the BlackBerry.
This decision could make things difficult for Research in Motion, which is currently selling the new BlackBerry Bold for $300 with a 2-year contract. If the price cut happens, the company will have to start slashing prices themselves. So what do you think? Could the iPhone rule the smartphone market?
