Fonix iSpeak: voice-activated iPhone user interface

While using the iPhone’s touchscreen is a rather easy way of controlling it, it’s always better to use your voice to give commands, isn’t it?

Fonix iSpeak allows you to do just that; this new program for the iPhone lets users call contacts in their address book or simply dial any number.

To make it work, you have to simply speak the number to call or say the contact’s name followed by a location designator (home, work, or mobile) into your iPhone. For example, “Call John Smith at work,” or the shorter “John Smith work.”

And here’s the YouTube video demonstration.

This program is available for $14.99 through AppStore.

Some of the upcoming features for this program will include:

* Search the Web for local restaurants, listen to weather conditions, get Google map directions, etc.
* Send a recorded voice note for email response.
* Open a contact list.
* Launch music and videos.
* Future languages: French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.
* Bluetooth support (not supported now due to limitations on the Apple iPhone).
