Review: Mophie Juice Pack for Apple iPhone 3G - highly recommended

The all-new mophie “Juice Pack 3G” is designed to more than double the time you can listen, watch, talk, surf and send with your iPhone 3G.

We’ve been testing the mophie “Juice Pack 3G” with an Apple iPhone 3G 16GB and can recommend it highly.

The Juice Pack is a rechargeable lithium polymer battery in the form of a non-slip, soft grip case. It extends the time that you can use your iPhone 3G thusly:

• Standby Time – Up to 350 hours
• Talk Time – Up to 6 hours on 3G | Up to 12 hours on 2G
• Internet Use – Up to 6 hours on 3G | Up to 7 hours on Wi-Fi
• Audio Playback – Up to 28 hours
• Video Playback – Up to 8 hours

The Juice Pack connects to the iPhone 3G via the dock connector. The iPhone slides into the soft grip case, which hugs the sides and bottom of the iPhone while leaving the Multi-Touch™ screen, buttons, and camera properly exposed for use. The Juice Pack charges via an included USB cable. A button on the back illuminates four cool blue lights (also on the back) to show the battery’s charge level. Basically, the Juice Pack sends its power to the iPhone, keeping the iPhone fully charged for as long as it can; and it can chug along for quite some time as seen above.

The Juice Pack weighs 3 ounces and matches the iPhone’s shape nicely. The device not only doubles your power, it also doubles as a case. Its pass-thru USB allows you to hook the Juice Pack to your Mac or power adapter with a USB port and will allow you to sync your iPhone without removing it from the Juice Pack.

In a nice touch, the Juice Pack comes “all juiced up,” so it can be used immediately.

If you find yourself constantly bumping up against iPhone’s battery limits, we highly recommend mophie’s “Juice Pack 3G.” It works as advertised, fits the iPhone well, and it looks cool, too. See more images of the product here.
