From the packaging in the way that the phone sits in the box to the white accessories, the phone does bear a striking resemblance to a certain more mainstream phone by a fruit company in Cupertino. Preliminary reports have indicated that the phone uses a customized interface on top of the Windows CE operating system; Windows CE is the same platform that Windows Mobile is built upon.

The M8 lacks 3G, GPS, but instead adds in WiFi and a 3-megapixel camera (Apple’s iPhone has a 2-megapixel shooter). December 8 should see more widescale availability according to Electronista.
