A company called Coolgorilla has launched a new talking phrasebook for iPhone and iPod Touch users. The phrasebook is available in seven different language versions: French, German, Greek, Italian, Japenese, Portuguese and Spanish.
This will of course simplify life for travelers, as this new iPhone app allows users to search for phrases in English, while the device will “speak” the requested phrase in whatever language you’ve selected. As a bonus, a real, native accent is used, while the text translation is also provided on the screen. Each phrasebook contains over 500 sound files, allowing travelers to communicate with the locals.

The phrasebooks retail for $0.99 for each version/language and are now available from the AppStore.
