There’s quite a few cool apps out there that simulate different effects on the iPhone, some are well used as stress relievers, while others are just for fun. But a new upcoming iPhone app from French developer Visuamobile, called Fracture, will actually allow you to both have fun and inflict some stress on your buddies.
The whole point of Fracture is to make it look as though the iPhone’s screen is broken! That could work especially well if you’ve just asked a buddy of yours to borrow his or her iPhone/iTouch… Just imagine his or her reaction, seeing a fractured screen only minutes after handing over the precious device into your “incapable” hands!
Fracture for iPhone will be available soon, it was already aubmitted to the AppStore. For now you can check out a video demonstration on Youtube.

Rumour has it Apple will open up the iPhone App Store to games costing around $19.99, but only for big name publishers, like GameLoft and EA. Such a price point would end up competing with Nintendo DS and lower-end PSP titles.
That’s quite an ambitious move, one that would require developers to really throw their weight behind iPhone games, but could outshine a lot of the indie games that are getting solid publicity in the current market.
Still, there’s a big gap in quality between mobile phone gaming and portable systems that will deter the hardcore gamers that the big publishers tend to target - that is, unless, they shift gears for a more casual market. It’s all in the realm of rumour for now, but we’ll keep our ears open for further clues.
