I know some people really enjoy the novelty iPhone apps, and I happen to not be one of them. However, when I got a press release that had the words “iPhone” and “Japanese Horror” in it, I admit I did take notice.
Developed by Appliya, Ghost Camera is an app that allows you to take a picture and then insert a bunch of different versions of a Sadako-type ghost into them. HAUNTED PHOTOS!
Ghost Camera Lite is avaliable to download for free if you want to try out the app (it’s limited to only 2 types of ghosts). I might love some J-horror, but I can’t help but think this is kind of silly. Then again, if someone released an app where you could insert Totoro into the backgrounds of all your pictures I might buy that, so I have no room to criticize.
