Once again, Canadians are shut out from the latest buzzed-about electronic toy.
Like the popular iPhone, the Kindle made its debut south of the border long before it was available in the Great White North.
And even though version 2.0 of the electronic reader has hit the (virtual) shelves in the United States, we still can’t get it here.
The Kindle 2, with its $359 price tag, is an odd fit as consumers cope with the crumbling economy. Not to worry though - shipping is included.
It’s Books On Tape for the 21st century. The device, pictured above, is slimmer than most magazines and slightly wider than a paper back novel.
But it still packs a hefty punch, storing roughly 1500 books inside its small frame. The original Kindle could only hold 200.
Boasting a wireless, cable-free service, the Kindle 2 allows for 3G downloading, promising that your latest purchase is available in less than 60 seconds.
That’s right - after shelling out for the toy, you still have to pay for the books. Luckily, a trip to the library is still free, even in Canada.
