MobiTV, a company specializing in providing live and on demand video content to mobile phones and desktop computers, has announced that now it also supports the iPhone.
Currently, the company already supports over 350 mobile devices and works with major carriers (like AT&T) and TV networks (like HBO) to bring live and on-demand content using mobile internet connection.

According to MobiTV, their iPhone solution is able to work via WiFi, Edge and 3G mobile internet connections. It is supposed to be fully optimized for iPhone’s touchscreen and accelerometer.
It seems though, that the company will not be distributing MobiTV on the iPhone itself, as it does on other mobile phones and on the PC (where it charges a monthly subscription fee and offers over 35 channels, including ESPN, NBC, Fox News, and others). Instead, MobiTV will be offered as a white label solution to content owners and service providers, who could then base their own iPhone apps on this engine.
So that means, that with some luck, soon enough we’ll be able to enjoy live TV channels wherever we go, and if we’re really lucky, there could be a variety of content providers.
