New iPhone on schedule for June launch!

It’s almost an accepted fact that Apple will be launching the new iPhone, possibly two new iPhones, this June or July. Given Apple’s short history with iPhone launches, it makes sense.

Today, the Chinese-language Commercial Times is reporting that component suppliers are now shipping iPhone parts to hardware integrators. The ship dates are an apparently confirmation of the June launch window.

Component suppliers have proven to be somewhat reliable launch date sources. Apple won’t want to leave un-assembled parts or completely manufactured hardware lying around some Taiwanese factory for longer than necessary. We have to assume that it takes a certain amount of time to take shipment of all components and manufacture the hardware, and might help narrow down the launch window. Component supply checks shouldn’t be written off as complete speculation.

So, June it is. For now…
