Rumors are swirling about that Best Buy will offer their own insurance to the iPhone 3G S when it launches late next week, AppleInsider reports.
The plan, which would reportedly cost $15 a month for protection, would alot iPhone 3G S owners a replacement, even if damaged by water or other clumsy handed accidents. Currently, AppleCare is offered as a two-year warranty exemption, and AT&T has made the phone exempt from their insurance plans. Recently, Apple allowed users of drowned iPhones to replace them wth a new one at new-contract price.
Best Buy was recently rumored to have the iPhone 3G S in their systems as “Project Charlie”. As one of the four retail locations where Americans can buy iPhones (Wal-Mart, Apple stores, and AT&T stores), only Apple and AT&T have announced their plans for iPhone 3G S sales.
