WorldMate Hits the iPhone (Finally)

Posted in iPhone News by admin. Published June 11th, 2009

I don’t know what took them so long, but WorldMate (formerly MobiMate) has finally released a version of its popular BlackBerry travel app for the iPhone.

The app offers everything that made WorldMate famous among executives with BlackBerrys, including flight search, an itinerary manager, automated flight updates, world clocks and weather reports, and a currency converter. It also takes advantage of the iPhone’s increased screen resolution and touch interface along the way.

WorldMate for the iPhone comes in two versions. WorldMate Gold offers all of the above, is ad-free, and includes priority customer support. It costs $19.99–steep for an iPhone app, but nothing compared to the $99 per year WorldMate used to charge BlackBerry users. The free version of WorldMate, meanwhile, skips the automated flight updates and flight status and is, uh, ad-filled.
