Comic Con: The iPhone Gets a Comics Store

Here’s a fun bit of comics news that may well get lost in the deluge of this week’s high profile Comic Con announcements.

Comic culture and news blog, comiXology has–like pretty much everyone else these days–launched its own iPhone app. The rather dully-named Comics by comiXology lets users browse, download, and read comics on their handsets.

The app is available now through the iTunes App Store for $0.99. It features free and paid comics such as Atomic Robo and Action Philosophers: Ayn Rand. According to ComicsAlliance, the app’s UI resembles that of the iTunes App Store itself.
