Apple released a beta update to their OS 3.0 software that was released mere weeks ago.
OS 3.1 currently is only available for developers to tinker with and last night, details on what kinds of features that came along with the update were scarce. Today however, is a different story, as more details are emerging about what iPhone owners and more specifically iPhone 3G S owners should be looking forward to.
To touch on some of the features that were discussed in last night’s article, OS 3.1 includes video editing that will allow you to keep a copy of your original film clip while saving an edited one. If you select and hold an application, as it wiggles, the phone itself will vibrate and lastly but not functioning, MMS buttons.
Today, in a report by Gizmodo, more changes have come to light, just another example of how Apple is really on top of things when it comes to new releases.
The other features include a faster boot time for the iPhone, updated modem firmware to 5.08.01, update AT&T profile to 4.2, and a couple of SDK/development functions that should please developers.
Last but not least and probably the most exciting, the voice control function now works over Bluetooth which, if probably drove those of you who extensively use the earpiece, crazy.
As you can see, most of the update is definitely geared towards 3G S owners, but it has a few minor tweaks that should keep all iPhone owners happy.
All, some or none of these may actually be released with the final release and more features could potentially be discovered but even though these seem like just minor things, it’s definitely a great start.
