Microsoft takes on iPhone
Microsoft today launched its own mobile phone software in a bid to take on Apple and BlackBerry.
Windows Phone works on a touchscreen mobile phone and will be available within days. Microsoft has signed up a host of manufacturers, including Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG and HTC to make handsets on which it will run.
Microsoft says it wants to appeal to business users who normally buy BlackBerries, and those who prefer Apple’s iPhone.
