First off, the name of the game might be a mouthful, but I like it. It reminds me of one of my favorite movies – The Basketball Diaries. But the similarity ends right there. The Waste Paper Basket Ball Diaries is a game from nocanwin in which we have to scrunch up paper into balls and toss them into the waste bin.
We are in an office where we are obviously bored, and the only entertainment seems to be tossing paper into the bins. Memos go into the waste paper baskets, while assignments are headed for unfortunate co-workers’ inboxes.
There are two modes of game play; if we are looking for something long-winded, we can choose the Career path and keep dunking paper balls. But when it changes pace and gets into crunch mode, we need to toss the special projects into a coworker’s basket or the passing cart.
The Crunch mode is quicker and the end result is that we get fired no matter what. We have to get into crunch gear and score as many points as we can in rapid fire succession.
This game has great graphics; I love it that we don’t have to even flick but simply lift our finger to play. The pencil and paper interface is also a plus point. If we want to pause the game, we can tap on the coffee break mug icon.
Our ability to score depends on the wind speed. The more it is, the more our scores pile up. A hit at the AC makes the wind blow faster. We also get consecutive bonus points if we manage to bounce a paper ball off a coworker’s head.
Waste paper Basket Ball Diaries is a great way to pass, and once we get started, it’s tough to stop tossing paper, much like in reality. I wouldn’t suggest that you play this in office though; your work would never get done. That is how much fun it is.
