Blow up the Death Star in ‘Star Wars’ iPhone game

The wireless division of publisher THQ has released a new Star Wars mobile title that re-enacts one of the saga’s most memorable scenes.

Star Wars: Trench Run, which is now available at Apple’s App Store for $4.99, revisits Luke Skywalker’s harrowing flight aboard an X-wing fighter captured in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, as he tries to destroy the Death Star.

Players will be able to use Force powers to slow down time, picking off enemy TIE fighters and dodging obstacles, and steer the X-wing using the device’s accelerometer controls.

Players can partake in the game’s mission mode, or engage in a series of dogfights in arcade mode complete with leaderboards. Players can also opt to view action from a “chase cam” perspective or inside the X-wing cockpit.
