Orange iPhones have landed on Top 10 Mobile Phones, officially marking the end of O2’s two-year exclusivity deal to sell Apple mobile phones.
Consumers can pick up the latest version of the phone, the iPhone 3G S for free when they sign up to contract deals starting at £45 per month over 24 months.
The previous 3G edition of the phone is free from £30 per month, once again with a two-year contract.
Pent-up demand for the handset is expected to send sales skyrocketing over the next few weeks, with Carphone Warehouse chief executive Charles Dunstone forecasting up to a million unit sales in the run up to Christmas on Orange alone.
To head off competition from Orange, O2 today announced that a new money-saving contract option called Total Connectivity.
This entitles all new and existing O2 iPhone customers who take up its tethering add-on at £9.79 per month free home broadband, provided they sign up for it before December 31st.
