Roadmate App introduced for IPhone

With the introduction of the roadmate application to the IPhone, users can now go on a long drive and not get lost either.

Launched by Magellan, the application is a One Touch interface and includes vehicle and pedestrian routing, music control, address book and also the option of a Text to speech experience. An user can also do all searches all in a single tap, ranging from the shortest and quickest distance from point A to point B to that of the use of highways. Apart from this, they can also access restaurants, ATM’s, emergency services and shopping areas all with a single tap.

Since the maps and applications are pre-loaded in the IPhone, these can be used also when there is no network. The turn by turn guidance will let one know of each turn on the road which also helps the driver concentrate on the road.

The pedestrian mode lets users navigate on foot with no effort. The application has a Find Your Car guide which makes the device store the parking location making it easy to find your car in a huge car park. Music can also be run without exiting from the application. All maps in this application are supported by NAVTEQ.

The Magellan Roadmate application is available from Itunes.com, the App store on IPhone or IPhone touch devices at a price starting from $79.99. For now, this is available with maps of US and Canada and should be available from December 2009.
