Apple (AAPL) has shaken up the video game industry, with the emergence of the iPhone and iPod Touch as an attractive platform for game developers. So far, though, almost all of those games come from outside developers. (They do offer a version of Texas Hold ‘Em.) But that could change.
As AppleInsider noted on Friday, the company has posted a job seeking to higher a game and media software engineers for the iPhone/Touch team, “perhaps signaling that the company intends to expand its first-party software offerings.”
The post notes that the company ways a “passionate gamer” to help design “interactive multimedia experiences” on the iPhone and Touch.
Apple today is up $2.85, or 1.4%, to $207.27.
