Well, if you believe the picture that was leaked this morning, the Google Phone which was rumored to be real a little more than a week ago is in fact, real.

Apparently, Google employees already have their hands on the device which was designed by HTC. The information is coming in the form of tweets. The device runs on Android 2.1 and is also unlocked and ready to roll on AT&T. It also is, according to one non-employee who saw it, thinner than the iPhone, has a trackball like the HTC Hero, and does not possess a physical keyboard.
The last part being similar to the HTC Passion or Bravo that has been rumored to hit the States in January.
Here are some of those tweets courtesy of Tech Crunch:
ZOMG we had fireworks and we all got the new Google phone. It’s beautiful.
Like an iPhone on beautifying steroids.
The new Google Phone runs on HTC hardware. I saw it w/ Android 2.1. Homescreen has new visual enhancements like animated desktop wallpaper.
Google’s first Android phone looks like it will be heading for a January release as well and maybe even sooner now since it is out in the open. But we’ll see.
Stay tuned.
