Analysts Conjecture Apple’s New iPhone OS Will Support Multitasking and Mobile Ads

Analysts are anticipating that Apple Inc. is preparing a new version of its iPhone software. They forecast that this new software will facilitate multitasking and advertising. These features will pose a greater competitive threat to its main rival Google Inc.

Apple has announced that the company will be holding an event today. The event is supposed to provide a `sneak peek into the future’ of the iPhone operating system.

It is notable that the iPhone OS has been employed by third-party developers to develop nearly 150,000 applications for the iPhone, iPod Touch and the new tablet PC, the iPad .

At present the iPhone is incapable of running third-party programs simultaneously. This has been a cause of dissatisfaction among customers and developers.

Analysts conjecture that the software may support an ad system owing to the fact that Apple had acquired the mobile ad network Quattro Wireless in January. The deal with Quattro came into being following Google’s move to buy AdMob Inc.

Shaw Wu, an analyst with Kaufman Bros. in San Francisco, declares, “This just gives Apple developers a new way to make money in the nascent market for mobile ads”.
