Apple iPhone 4.0 Release Date & 4g iPhone. Steve Jobs has released the Apple iPhone 4.0 operating system and it has a lot of neat features. It provides for multitasking and allows users to organize their apps into folders, making it easier to find whatever it is that you are are looking for.
There’s still no word of a 4g iPhone, although it’s the logical next step. Many think that a re-designed iPhone 4.0 will come out at the same time as the new operating system.
AT&T is currently the only carrier that handles the iPhone. The exclusivity deal is rumored to end later this year or sometime next year and in that case many are hoping for a Verizon iPhone.
AT&T doesn’t currently have a 4g LTE network – but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t working on one as we speak. The iPhone needs to come out on a 4g network soon to stay ahead.
The 4.0 release date is rumored to be this Summer. Of course, Steve Jobs himself said that it would be this summer but he didn’t give any indication of what exact date the launch would occur on.
In addition to multitasking, the new iPhone 4.0 OS will bring forth the new Apple advertising platform, iAd which is designed to give developers of apps more ways to earn revenue by creating products for the iPhone and the iPad.
Hopefully there will be a new iPhone 4.0 4g released on the same day as the 4.0 OS.
