Apple (AAPL) doesn’t always reveal all their component suppliers to their iPhone products for competitive reasons.
Brian Blair at Wedge Partners has ripped apart the new iPhone and tells us:
- Omnivision (OVTI) - They are the 5-megapixel sensor in the camera.
- ST Micro (STM) makes the 3-axis gyroscope which is a completely new feature
- Triquint (TQNT) makes the PA Duplexer Module and the CDMA PA.
- Skyworks (SWKS) makes the GSM/GPRS Front End Module.
- Broadcom (BRCM) makes a combo chip (802.11 a/b/g/n + Bluetooth + FM Radio)
- Corning (GLW) makes the gorilla glass
- Texas Instruments (TXN) makes the Touch Screen Controller.
Given that the iPhone 4 has already sold 1.7 million units, all of these companies, particularly the smaller ones (OVTI, SWKS) can be expected to guide up or blow away their quarter.
