Firefox Home app coming to iPhone… if Apple approves it

Got an iPhone? Use the Firefox browser on your desktop computer? You’ll be champing at the bit to use the new Firefox Home app then, which synchronises your desktop history, bookmarks and open tabs with your iPhone.

It’s not available yet, but Mozilla - the company behind Firefox - has just announced that it’s been submitted to Apple for approval. The free app isn’t a full browser in itself, like the Opera Mini browser that was released for iPhone earlier this year.

Instead, it synchronises with your Firefox desktop data, then lets you open bookmarks and pages in iPhone’s native Safari browser. “Your Firefox history starts working for you the moment you fire up your iPhone,” explains Mozilla’s blog post.

It’s a great idea, and one that Mozilla seems confident Apple won’t have any problems with. Fingers crossed for a speedy approval.
