Apple, the Cupertino-based firm known for creating the iPhone, is set to open its largest Apple Store in the world in London’s Covent Garden. It will be the 300th store for the firm, and many excited customers have already begun queuing outside the doors for a chance to be among the first to enter when it opens at 10:00 BST on Saturday. Over 5,000 Apple fans queued outside the Apple Store on Regent Street prior to its opening in November 2004, and that store has regularly seen queues prior to launches of new products and releases from Apple.

Apple has enjoyed tremendous success over the course of the past few years, most notably as a result of the iPhone, the seemingly must-have device for consumers all over the world who want to enjoy the latest in smartphone technology. Although the iPhone has been incredibly popular, Apple had some problems with the device earlier this year, as the newest iPhone release, the iPhone 4, had issues with the built-in antennae that caused poor receptions and dropped calls.
Apple initially dismissed the problem, saying that consumers were simply holding the device wrong, although later back-tracked and announced it was indeed a design flaw and that they would be providing a fix. The firm ultimately announced that it would provide free covers for all iPhone users that chief executive and co-founder Steve Jobs said would resolve any reception issues with the device.
