Owners of jailbroken apple iPhone might consider themselves to be lucky. It can also be considered a fair use for those who own the device. However, thid does not mean that apple can be compared with the concept of a third-party unlock of its iOS 4 mobile operating system.

A patent application from Apple, filed way back in 2009, but revealed recently,is shown to cast a wide, technological net against the possible iPhone jailbreaks and thieves stealing such devices.
The patent titled “Systems and Methods for Identifying Unauthorized Users of an Electronic Device” swears to keep up to its motive, which has been rightly titled. However, Apple’s description of the process of the device’s ability to self-identify that it has being handled by a wrong person is rather lengthy.
While this process can be carried out by matching the phone user’s identity to a pre-determined lis of authorized users, it can also scan a few more programs such as jailbreaking the electronic device, hacking the electronic device, removing a SIM card from the electronic device and a few more.
If iPhone comes across any of these activities, it can convey a plethora of responses. It can be even be permitted to delete the data on the said device.Coupled with these, what remains to be deciphered is how a jailbroken iPhone would perform in the hands of its actual owner. Will it provide its owner with credentials or not.
Whether it still permits a jailbreak or not, remains a specualation, rather too early to ponder over. However, one thing that Apple surely wants, is to provide protection to its iPhone owners.
