Free applications for you phone could be costing you. The company Lookout inc. found that a quarter of free iphone applications and half of Android apps can pull personal data from you phone. The data can include your pictures, contacts list, browser history, and even text messages.
While android users have to log through warnings when downloading apps, iphone users are not warned that personal information can be lifted from their phones. This information is sold to advertisers, but security experts warn that it makes you vulnerable to hacking or identity theft. I love a good free game of hangman, but that application may be costing you more than you think.
So what can you do?
