We’re back to the old days, where posting intimate email message between Apple CEO Steve Jobs and customers are customary, enlightening, and short.

A recent email exchange between an iPhone 3G user and Steve Jobs shed some light on a question 3G owners have been pondering upon since the release of iOS 4: will there be speed improvements? According to Jobs, that answer is yes.
Here’s the exchange:
Customer: I’ve waited patiently through 4.0.1 and 4.0.2, looking for a fix that will make my phone work again. I’ve read the forums that advise me to jailbreak my phone or use some other method so I can downgrade back to a version of iPhone 3, however I’m not prepared to use a method that is not supported by Apple.
Jobs: Software update coming soon.
There you have it.
We would expect said software update to make its debut at around the same time iOS 4 debuts for iPad — sometime next month.
