Scores of users have been voicing their displeasure with Apple’s iTunes software. In their complaints registered: inability to import songs from iPod to computer, duplicate tracks, incorrect album work, content wiping, and more. Luckily, the folks at Xilisoft (who have also become a sponsor) have created iPod Magic for both Windows and Mac OS X — a software that allows users to easily manage and backup their iPhone and iPod content.

I was able to try Xilisoft iPod Magic, and I have to admit that it’s a great program. Unlike iTunes, it provides various feature that can help users make the most out of their media library. For instance, users can easily import songs from an iPod to a computer. The program also allows users to convert DVD movies into iPod supported formats. Users can also easily transfer content between iPods by just dragging and dropping files. Up to 26 different iPods and 1 iPhone can be managed simultaneously.

Advantages
As previously mentioned, Xilisoft iPod Magic offers more and better features than iTunes, which currently ships with every single iOS-powered device such as iPod, iPhone, and iPad. Many would settle by just being able to import content from their iPods to a computers. Luckily, Xilisoft allows users to do so much more in a few easy steps. The software features a very easy to use on both Windows and Mac OS X. It currently supports several iPod models such as the iPod Nano, iPod Classic, iPod Shuffle, iPod Mini, and iPod Touch in addition to the iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4 running iOS 4 and iOS 3.1.3 or lower.

Disadvantages
Just as any other software, Xilisoft iPod Magic has its drawback, which also depends on the individual needs of every single user. For instance, the $49.95 price might be a bit high for some. However, I believe the one-time fee is worth, considering that the application contains many features. Additionally, the price is much better than the former $59.95 price tag.

I can’t really complain about anything else.
