FEELING helpless after you are involved in a car accident? Whip out your iPhone and tap on the NTUC Income Motor app.

This comprehensive app features an Accident Assistant tool that lets you input the date, time and location of the accident using the iPhone’s built-in Global Positioning System. It even includes a guide to ensure you snap photos that show the position of the involved cars. You can record the driver’s information into the app as well.

An authorised workshop locator will help you get to the nearest repair station. Even if you are not an NTUC Income motor insurance customer, there is a built-in LTA’s Mytransport.sg tool that provides a parking guide, public transport information and access to live traffic information.

The app does look slightly pixelated, but that could be due to the hi-res retina display on my iPhone 4.

NTUC Income Motor even throws in a snake-and-ladder game where you “drive” your car to the finish line while avoiding accidents and breakdowns. If you’re the week’s top scorer, you’ll get an Apple iPad. The contest’s only for a limited time; it ends on Sept 14. TREVOR TAN
