Verizon iPhone update: Pegatron CDMA iPhone seems to be headed for Sprint. The quantity ordered seemed to be miniscule than the predicted requirement of Verizon.
iPhone on Verizon that looked so near is now looking very far from reality. After so much publicity that showed the common people’s enthusiasm for it, Apple’s silence on it and Verizon’s admission that it was unlikely anytime soon is more than enough to put a full stop on it.

Ivan Seidenberg said the obvious amid speculation of a Taiwanese company manufacturing a CDMA iPhone.
By the way Verizon is not the only CDMA cellular network, there are several others including Sprint and we know there were reports of iPhone being launched on Sprint network as well. Sprint may not have as big a cellular network as Verizon, but Apple bosses may seem less averse to launching their phone on it.
Meanwhile there are suggestions that Taiwanese tech giant Pegatron is going to start the production of CDMA iPhone. Reports suggest that Apple has ordered some 3-4 million CDMA iphone.
But this doesn’t mean that Apple is going for Verizon iPhone as the company would have ordered many more million handsets had it planned to launch it on Verizon. May be a Sprint iPhone looks more likely.
Taiwan-based hardware maker, Pegatron, will begin the volume production of CDMA technology based Apple iPhone 4. Apple Insider reported that Apple receive around 4 million unit from the Taiwanese factory.
This seems to have become ammo for rumor mongers. This is very well said in a PCmagzine article, “Maybe the Verizon iPhone will always be nothing more than an elusive myth and pipe dream. After years of rumor and speculation the Verizon iPhone is still as elusive as Big Foot or the Loch Ness sea monster. The rumors gain steam, then fade away, then surge back again, but still no iPhone. The tech gossip cycle fluctuates between speculation about what the next Apple iPhone or iPad will look like, and rumors about ending the AT&T exclusivity and offering Apple mobile devices through other vendors–namely Verizon”.
