United SA releases new iPhone, iPod banking application

United SA Federal Credit Union is working to make it easier for credit union customers to access their account information electronically.

United SA has released United SA Mobile, a fully functional iPhone and iPod touch mobile banking application for local credit union members. United SA Mobile is now available as a free download from the App Store. Through it, customers can view their account history and information, and transfer funds between accounts. Customers can also call or e-mail the credit union through the app with one click.

“With United SA Mobile, members have a convenient and secure way to access their United SA accounts anytime and anywhere through their iPhone and iPod touch,” says Steve Coomes, president and CEO of United SA. “We look forward to continuously adding new functionality through subsequent updates to this application.”

San Antonio-based United SA Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1955 to serve the employees of USAA. In 2005, the credit union converted to a community charter and expanded its field of membership to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Bexar County. The credit union has nearly 30,000 members and more than $220 million in assets.

Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) is the developer behind the iPhone and iPod devices.
