Keeping abreast of what gas should cost in La Belle Province just got a little bit easier after CAA-Quebec announced that its popular Gasoline Watch solution, which is consulted online by thousands of motorists each day, is now available as a free application for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
“We’re thrilled to be keeping pace with the latest technologies and making our application available to motorists everywhere who are concerned about fluctuating gas prices,” says Sophie Gagnon, CAA-Quebec’s senior director, public and government relations, in a statement. She adds that the app can be downloaded for free at the Apple App Store. “With the new app, we’re now putting the information right into the consumer’s palm. This made-in-Quebec technology lets them make an informed, quick decision whether it’s worth it to fill up or not.”
The app is similar to the online version in that it provides users with information as to the realistic cost of a litre of gasoline in Quebec’s various regions. CAA-Quebec adds that the app lists the realistic price — based on price indicators and market conditions for Quebec’s different areas — rather than the suggested price.
Available in both French and English language versions, the app gives users a tool that they can use to determine where to buy gas and how much of it to buy.
