Skyfire To Discontinue Windows Mobile and Symbian Browser

Skyfire have announced that they will be discontinuing its browser on Windows Mobile and Symbian mobiles before the end of this year.

The versions that will be dropped are the older version 1.0, not the 2.0 version that has proven a huge success on iPhone. Infact, the success of the iPhone Skyfire browser is one of the reasons why they are dropping support on both operating systems. Furthermore, the version for the iPhone is a premium app that generates revenue while the others were offered free.

The Skyfire browser for iPhone is proving a massive success because it enables users to view flash content, which isn’t possible normally.

Skyfire have stated that they are monitoring the progress of both Windows Phone 7 and Nokia MeeGo to decide which operating system might get a future 2.0 release.

You can download the Skyfire browser for your iPhone from the App Store right now.
