Apple Inc. will manufacture about 10 million fewer CDMA iPhones than planned for Verizon Wireless, says one Wall Street analyst.

The actual number has been “adjusted to a more realistic forecast,” Mike Abramsky with RBC Capital Markets wrote in a client memo on Friday. To that point, Abramsky expects Apple to build about 20 million CDMA iPhones, rather than 30 million.
The thing is, Verizon Wireless boasts more than 93 million subscribers – 20 million iPhones, then, seems like a low ratio. Will there be a shortage of iPhone supply at Big Red?
Either way, Verizon Wireless is expected to snag the highly coveted iPhone – which has been sold just through AT&T – early next year. Verizon getting the iPhone is a big deal, for both AT&T and Verizon. As a result, AT&T has been adding Android devices to its inventory, despite Verizon’s lead in the Android sector. To be sure, Verizon’s Android strategy has turned out to be a smart one. Sales of Android devices are surpassing BlackBerry and the iPhone and, earlier this week, even Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak admitted Android features a lot of superiority over the iPhone.
