How to Activate Your iPhone 4

If you’ve been a good this year and received a new shiny iPhone 4 for Christmas, then follow our guide to find out how to activate your iPhone 4.

Note the iPhone 4 uses a miniSim card that you will need to pick up from an AT&T store in order to activate. There is no charge for this.

How to Activate Your iPhone 4

1) Download and install (or update to) the latest version of iTunes.

2) Connect your iPhone 4 to your PC or MAC using the provided USB 16 pin cable and follow the on-screen instructions. They will ask you to name your phone, sync data, etc. Note if you have a lot of media it may take a while for the first sync.

3) Activate the iPhone 4 online via either att.com/activations or by calling 1-866-895-1099 from a different phone. Note: you will need to provide the wireless number that you would like to activate as well as the account holder’s social security number and zip code. Activation may take a few minutes.

4) Fire up your new phone and make a test call. Then set up your visual voicemail box by touching the green phone icon, the voicemail icon on the right, and select set up. You will then create a passcode (make it easy) and be able to use a default or custom greeting.

And you’re done!
