ifood.tv Launches Free iPhone App for Video Recipes; Brings Over 25,000 Cooking Demos to your iPhone This Christmas
ifood.tv, the world’s biggest food and cooking video website, officially launched its iPhone app today named “Recipe TV & Food Diary - ifood.tv.” The app helps home-chefs better plan and prepare their holiday meals by enabling them to learn and cook from the comfort of their kitchen.

It is a great resource for the vast majority of foodies who love to watch and learn from videos; for those who find it helpful to have written instructions, the videos also come with a text-based list of ingredients and directions.
1. Largest collection of video recipes: The app provides access to over 25,000 cooking videos, contributed by over 500 ifood.tv partners. Enjoy sumptuous recipes contributed by popular chefs such as PBS show host Chef Toni Fiore, Celebrity Chef Lala, and cookbook author Chef Hari.
2. Food Diary: Users can maintain a diary of the food that they eat by taking pictures. They can even share the pictures with friends on Facebook and Twitter.
3. A robust search engine: It draws on the extensive taxonomy that ifood.tv has defined for the food domain. The app allows for filtering based on Cuisine, Taste, Health Index, Vegetarian, Course, Ingredients etc. Alternatively, recipes can also be searched using keywords.
4. Playlist: Users can create their own playlist by adding recipes to the list of favorites and come back to watch them later.
5. Surprise Me Feature: Every time the user shakes the phone or taps the Home icon, the app will, depending on the time of the day, recommend a breakfast, snack, main course or dessert recipe. The app has built in intelligence and suggests recipes for specific course depending upon the time of the day, but it also maintains a sense of discovery and surprise by randomly picking a video recipe for the course.
“You dont need to run between your living room and kitchen anymore trying to copy the cooking shows on TV, your iphone is all you need to create delicious dishes for your family this Christmas.” said Alok Ranjan, Founder & CEO, ifood.tv. The app is free and can be downloaded from itunes.
