The potential buyer of an iPhone listed on Craigslist instead became the victim of armed robbery.
Police say the victim and the suspect met to make the exchange at a restaurant outside the Ellenton Prime Outlets Mall near Bradenton about 9 p.m. Sunday. But the seller told the victim he didn’t bring the phone with him and asked the victim to follow him to a nearby residence to pick it up.
There, the suspect pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded money, other items in the victim’s car and the car keys.
The suspect then ran to a nearby vehicle and fled the area. The victim was not harmed.
