Alleged manufacturing diagrams depict new iPhone

Leaked manufacturing schematics depict an upcoming iPhone, claims Apple.Pro. The documents are reported to come from Foxconn, Apple’s main manufacturing partner. It’s suggested that they may show a fifth-generation iPhone, although they could alternately depict the Verizon iPhone, which would have to be redesigned to support CDMA and/or LTE cellular connections.

In either case the phone in the drawings is little different, superficially, from the iPhone 4. It would however be consistent with leaked photos and video, claiming to show a design with slight modifications. Notably, a video from a site called GlobalDirectParts has been pulled from YouTube as a result of a copyright claim by Apple.

If authentic the schematics also reinforce charges that security holes exist at Foxconn. In recent years case designs for Apple products have sometimes emerged before the product itself was even available, a pattern that appears to have repeated with the second-generation iPad. Some Foxconn workers may be sharing secret information with local case manufacturers in exchange for bribes.
